A great conjunction occured on December 21, 2020 (the December solstice) when Jupiter and Saturn, the largest planets in our solar system, appeared a tenth of a degree apart in the night sky. The bright planets were visible despite very heavy cloud cover over the Hudson River and the Palisades. Local residents gathered at MacEachron Waterfront Park for a southwest view of the sky.
